Check List for Colloquium Coordinators
The department chair designates the colloquium chair and committee
members at the beginning of each academic year.
A memo is sent to all faculty, research fellows, and graduate students
at the start of the semester soliciting ideas and names of possible
speakers. The committee members meet (at the beginning and
during the semester) to give suggestions and
communicate ideas and fields of interest. Each of them will contact
prospective speakers for specific Thursday dates. Once the speaker
accepts the invitation, both colloquium chair and colloquium
coordinator are informed, in order to reserve the date.
The Colloquium Coordinator,
in conjunction with the chair's office, puts together the colloquium
schedule, which is then distributed to the other members of the committee.
Reserve Room A10 for all colloquium dates with the
Undergraduate office assistant.
